Agriculture is the main livelihood for a majority of people in sub-Saharan Africa, and women carry out a large share of the work. Yet women and young people often have the least access to capital, training and reliable markets.
Worth Alliance was founded to help change that. Through BRiK in Busia County, we are testing a practical package of capital, training, mentoring and market access, and learning from every household we work with.
Facing the barriers honestly
Climate change, youth unemployment and unequal access to productive resources are real obstacles. We design for them: with climate-smart training, mentors close to the households, and income-linked contributions that share risk.
Our mission is to lift 100,000 Kenyan women and youth out of poverty through agriculture. We are starting small, and we will grow as the evidence supports it.
