The Building Resilience in Kenya (BRiK) project supports families facing multiple, overlapping forms of deprivation to move out of poverty through agricultural entrepreneurship. We focus on women and youth in Busia County.
The model
- Capital. Small productive capital under an Income Sharing Agreement.
- Training. Hands-on agriculture, financial literacy and regenerative farming, supported by community mentors.
- Market access. A path to cooperative selling and links to institutional buyers.
- Learning. Tracking income growth, contributions, food security and jobs, so that we can improve before we grow.
What we hope to see
Stronger production, better access to financial services, climate-smart practices, improved household nutrition, and a revolving fund that opens the same door for new participants over time.
